Petey's vet fees

Petey's surgery was brought forward. He had a successful 3hr operation and now he's bionic! We'll not quite, but he's been pinned back together and he's in a metal splint for at least 2wks. They want to keep him there until next week but they said to call every day and check in for updates. He's on the road to a full recovery now, go Petey!!

I'm just home from an epic 2hr vet visit with Petey. I thought he was just getting his sutures out, but he ended up having 4 x-rays and the prognosis is that his growth plate is fractured. The bad news is he needs more expensive surgery. The good news is that if all goes well he should make a complete recovery within 2-3 weeks!

Stella was rescued from a pound over an hour away from the pound Petey was rescued from. They could be related, who knows. They make a nice matching pair though, don't they?!

Thank you all so much for buying tickets. Petey is getting a little bit better every day. The holes where the drains were inserted and his stitches are healing nicely. He's still not using his front leg and he's wheezing from the tear in his windpipe. We'll take him to the vet at the weekend and get a proper opinion on his progress.
